New route connects Esbjerg and Emden

The new connection strengthens the regional route network around the North Sea and provides businesses with easier access to key commercial centres in the region.

On 13 October 2026, Esbjerg Airport and LYGG will launch a new air route between Esbjerg and Emden in northwestern Germany. The new connection strengthens the regional route network around the North Sea and provides businesses with easier access to key commercial centres in the region.

Esbjerg Airport and LYGG are expanding their cooperation with a new route to Emden, Germany. The service will operate three times weekly, with flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

With Emden added as a new destination, Esbjerg also becomes part of an integrated regional route network linking Esbjerg, Groningen and Emden. Emden-Esbjerg flights will operate non-stop via Groningen, depending on the operation. The service provides companies with operations in and around these cities with more opportunities to visit customers and business partners.

On 5 October, Esbjerg Airport and LYGG will also reopen the route to Stavanger, Norway.

-Esbjerg is a natural hub for many businesses working on the energy, offshore and maritime sectors. It is therefor important that we continue to develop connections that make it easier to develop connections that make it easier to meet and collaborate across the North Sea region. The route to Emden is a good example of this, says Allan Dahl Leiberg, Acting Airport Director at Esbjerg Airport.

LYGG also sees significant potential in the new route:

-We are very pleased to welcome Emden into the network. We see clear demand for business travel between the cities, and by bringing together companies travel needs, we can establish connections that would otherwise not be possible, says Roope Kekäläinen, Founder og CEO of LYGG.

Tickets are available to book now.
