Esbjerg Airport ensures business growth

Our primary task is to transport offshore personnel and cargo to and from the North Sea quickly and safely for the energy sector.

Our location, infrastructure, and significant growth potential have led to our selection as an EU hub.

K

Servicing offshore wind farms

The offshore wind farms in the North Sea are to be expanded. This was established in the Esbjerg Declaration, which was signed in Esbjerg by four European world leaders. The goal is for Germany, Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands to supply at least 65 GW of offshore wind power by 2030 and to increase capacity to at least 150 GW by 2050. The ambition is for these countries to supply half of the green electricity from offshore wind that the EU will need in 2050 to achieve its climate neutrality goal.

Going forward, we will service the offshore wind farms in the North Sea with personnel and cargo transport. In the same way, we will become an important facilitator in relation to future Power-to-X projects.

We will thus contribute to economic growth and development regionally, nationally, and internationally.

K

Part of important energy infrastructure

The airport is centrally located in Esbjerg and is an important part of the energy infrastructure both nationally and internationally.
The city has been named Denmark’s Energy Metropolis. More than 250 companies and over 13,500 employees work in the energy and technology sector.

Ten minutes’ drive from the airport is Esbjerg Port, which is the leading Danish port for the oil, gas, and wind industries.
