Noise
Esbjerg Airport provides vital infrastructure for the Danish energy sector and helps many people get from A to B every day.
We are very aware that this can be seen and not least heard.
We strive to minimize the noise for our neighbours from surrounding towns when we operate in and develop the airport.
We continuously monitor the noise from airplane and helicopter traffic and actively try to reduce it by:
- Comply with the rules and guidelines from Esbjerg Municipality’s Municipal Plan, which we as an airport are subject to and obliged to comply with.
- Use so-called noise corridors, which are designed to minimize noise for surrounding houses as much as possible.

Statement from Esbjerg Municipality’s Municipal Plan:
Around Esbjerg Airport, both noise from aircraft operations and noise from other activities must be taken into account. The airport noise isoline includes noise from aircraft operations.
The noise impact from other airport operations is defined as a business noise isoline corresponding to a class 7 business with a buffer of 500 m. Provisions have been made for noise requirements for the airport noise isoline of max. 70, 70 and 70 dB(A) (day, evening, night respectively) outside its own property boundary.
