The airport is centrally located in Esbjerg and is an important part of the energy infrastructure both nationally and internationally.

A ten-minute drive from the airport is Esbjerg Port, which is the leading Danish port for the oil, gas, and wind industries.
Ready for wind
In May 2022, the Esbjerg Declaration was signed by several world leaders at a summit in Esbjerg.
As a result of the meeting, offshore wind farms and energy islands will be given the highest priority in the future.
In the long term, 22,500 large offshore wind turbines will supply a large part of Europe’s energy needs.

Esbjerg Airport’s clear goal is to become the absolute leader in facilitating helicopter cargo and personnel transport to and from offshore wind farms and energy islands.
Fast track terminal for offshore wind
The City Council of Esbjerg Municipality is working with Esbjerg Airport to accelerate the green transition.
To this end, we have built a Wind Terminal, from which offshore personnel can be quickly transported to and from the offshore wind farms.
It is possible to park in front of the Wind Terminal and walk directly to the helicopter.
